Pastor Ethel Harper is a native of California. She grew up in a household with six siblings, five brothers, and one sister. Pastor Harper is the daughter of Inez and Pastor Harvey J Rodgers and currently serves as the Founder and Pastor of Old-Fashioned Gospel Temple Ministries, Las Vegas—A people-minded ministry designed to directly affect the community that crosses all denominational, color, and geographical lines.

Pastor Harper is married to the “Sugar in Her Bowl,” Gentleman Terry Harper and is the mother of a blended family of five boys and five girls. She and her husband are loving grandparents to a host of grandchildren. Her favorite color is pink, she loves to sing, and her favorite scripture is Proverbs 18:10. 

Pastor Ethel Harper was saved at the age of twelve and grew up in a household where her Father and Mother served the Lord. She is the seventh child of nine children born to her Mother and Father. One of her brothers preceded her in death in 2018 and has gone on to be with the Lord, leaving six living siblings. 

Her Father became a Deacon and then went on to become a Pastor of his church, Old Fashion Baptist Temple in Long Beach, CA. Pastor Ethel Harper went on to join Community Baptist Church in Redlands, CA from 1993-2003. There she was under the tutelage of non-other than the Astute leadership of Bishop Hermon Hubbard. There she was a member of the choir and the Young Adult Choir and went on to sing with such artists as: RANCE ALLEN, THE LOS ANGELES MASS CHOIR, THE CANTON SPIRITUALS, PASTOR SHIRLEY CAESAR, MARY MARY TO NAME A FEW.

She joined and became licensed to preach at One Way God’s Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Emmanuel Haynes in 2004. Pastor Ethel went on to move to Las Vegas, Nv, and joined Rose of Sharon Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Carl L. Ware in 2007 and was ordained by him in 2011. 

She years later was fortunate to join with Pastor now Overseer Robbie McClendon of Greater New Union Ministries wherein she became the Assistant Pastor and in January 2018 was elevated to the Pastoral position. In April of 2018, Pastor Harper heard the Lord calling her a little higher. She began Old Fashioned Gospel Temple Ministries in June of 2018 with her husband at her side and with God leading the way.

She now serves her local communities and the greater Las Vegas area by providing a welcoming environment for all through OFGTM, she tirelessly gives back with help from individuals or other agencies to feed the homeless and help with food donations, and clothes donations just name a few. 

her vision reaches far beyond the four walls of the church, she wants to touch God's people through television, radio, the internet, and much more.
